Former world heavyweight champion George Foreman became the first guest in the new Archie McDonald Speaker Series last Thursday with "Reflections on My America." Brian Murphy, dean of the College of Liberal and Applied Arts, said the purpose of the series is to bring important people to campus to show how anybody can have an effect.

Time set for annual Battle of the Piney Woods in Houston
Kickoff time for the "Battle of the Piney Woods" rivalry game between Sam Houston and SFA Saturday, Oct. 23, at Reliant Stadium in Houston will be 2 p.m., Lone Star Sports & Entertainment announced. A historic rivalry moves downtown as the Lumberjacks and Bearkats face off in the 85th football duel between the two NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision teams.
