What has being a leader in your organization taught you?

It has taught me that no matter how much you want to accomplish something, you have to motivate others in your organization to want it just as bad because you can not do everything by yourself.

What other organizations are you in?

-Alpha Chi Omega, Driving Jacks, SFA 101 student teacher, Fashion Merchandising Club, FCSTATss

What is the main ingredient to being a good leader?

A leader keeps their eyes on the end result and always maintains a positive outlook, regardless of current circumstances.

What advice would you give to students who are interested in getting involved in leadership positions while still at SFA?

If being in a leadership position is one of your goals, do not let anything get in your way Persistence is key. Work hard and follow your dreams. A big thing is time management-you can not spread yourself too thin. It is possible to be a member in every organization, but not a leader because you do not have the time it requires of you. Figure out which organization you are most passionate about and build your leadership skills within those select organizations.

What has been the most influential leadership experience in your life?

For me, being the Student Foundation Executive Director at SFA has taught me the most skills I will use throughout my life. It has taught me how to motivate others, how to lead by example, how to delegate responsibility and how to interact with all kinds of people in various situations. It has not always been easy, but it has been a fun and valuable opportunity which I am grateful to have had.
