SFA beats Tarleton in first home game of the season

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks played Tarleton State University Texans on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches, TX.  

As the first game of the season kicked off Stephen F. Austin had many different organizations involved in the game. The Alumni Association brought out former band members and twirlers to be a part of the traditions at SFA.  

The Lumberjacks won their game 20-10 against the Texans.  

The first half of the game the Jacks were losing to the Texans 7-10.  The second half showed a different story as they continued to gain more points.  

During the game the Jacks scored three touchdowns. Senior quarterback Trae Self passing with 235 yards with one touchdownJunior Xavier Gipson receiving with 48 yards with one touchdown, and Senior Miles Reed rushing 71 yards with one touchdown.
