The Woodlands Strykers are pleased to announce another player from last season has resigned with the team. Outfielder Ricardo Sanchez will put on a Stryker uniform for a second season when the team opens its season on May 30 against the Victoria Generals.

Sanchez, a Houston native, is in his junior season at SFA. Sanchez had a great year at the plate this past season. He had the 9th best batting average in the league at .297 and was also named a TCL All-Star. To go along with his .297 average, he collected 63 hits in 56 games. 17 of those hits were doubles while 3 were triples. He also added two home runs and added 26 RBIs.

Sanchez has done a phenomenal job for the Lumberjacks this season. He has appeared in 13 games with 12 starts. He has 21 hits, of which five are doubles, to go along with one home run and nine RBIs. Those numbers have given him a .477 batting average which is a team best. Sanchez has also added three steals. Those numbers put him at the top of the Southland Conference, where he comes in at No. 4 in the entire conference. “Ricky did a great job for us last season,” owner Ramiro Lozano said. “I believe he will come and put up big numbers like he is currently at SFA.”

The Strykers will begin their 2013 season on May 30th against the Victoria Generals. The Strykers will have a four game home stand to begin the season from May 30-June 2 against the Generals and East Texas Pump Jacks. The Strykers are currently looking for some more Host Families for the season.
