Donated dresses to raise money for Mercy Ships
This semester, leadership and honors society Omicron Delta Kappa will hold its third annual "Dresses for Dreams" program to help bring beautiful dresses to girls in the local community and to raise money for charity group Mercy Ships.
Last year's program collected more than 1,300 dresses from the SFA and Nacogdoches area, with sorority Chi Omega winning a prize for donating the most dresses of any other organization.…

Hookah bar to be new 'hot spot' in town
The Hott Box, a hookah bar, will be opening Monday, Feb. 15, on North Street between Starbucks and Brad Fontenot Insurance.
The Hott Box is owned by four friends, Casey Roe, Daniel Allgood, Josh Norris and Justin Knight. Roe, Norris and Knight are all SFA students and are members of Theta Chi fraternity.…

The Crime Log
On 2-5-2010 an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving in the Aikman Parking Garage. The officer found the driver of the vehicle to be intoxicated. The subject was arrested and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident.…

Summer students can travel to South AmericaCourse will focus on ecology, economics in context of jaguars
Jungles, exotic countries, conservation and jaguars are among the main reasons why 14 students will travel to Argentina and Brazil in August.
The Summer II class titled Jaguars in South America: Ecological and Economic Aspects of a Conservation Problem will make the trip to "learn about ecological characteristics of subtropical forests, conservation policies, how conservation copes with the expansion of agriculture and the forest industry" in the South American countries.…

Bad Boy Nietzsche based on poems, letters written by philosopher
The SFA School of Theatre will present "Bad Boy Nietzsche" in the downstage theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday
The play was written by Richard Foreman and is based on poems and letters written by Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher, in his deteriorating mental state before the turn of the 20th century.…

It is the tradition of the SFA planetarium to produce shows on aspects of our solar system and beyond, and this time it is organizing a show our neighboring planet- MARS, the third planet to the sun.
