A man stops his truck on the road, gets out of the vehicle and antagonizes peaceful protesters, physically pushing one protester after the protester raised his hands to chest level and attempted to keep the man back at the Nacogdoches County Courthouse. The man was open carrying, had his hand resting on a handgun holstered to his left side as he pushed a protester. He eventually got back in his truck calling the protestors racists while a female in the passenger seat appeared to be recording the incident on an iPhone, and they then drove off in the direction of Lufkin. About one minute later a Nacogdoches police vehicle pulled around, parked and several officers began taking statements, including a photo of the man’s license plate and a video of the incident.
The otherwise peaceful protest was led by the Nacogdoches NAACP. Over 100 people attended the protest that lasted two hours.
