Jacks prove themselves in comeback season

Head coach Kyle Keller draws a play for players during a time out on Wednesday’s match against Nicholls State University. The Lumberjacks are on an eighth-game winning streak after coming off an 81-74 win against the University of New Orleans. “Last year, we lost about 131 games to player injury and suspension,” Keller said. “You learn from them. And I think these guys don’t ever want to experience something like that. We’ve had so much success around here and the program has.” SFA holds the No. 1 seed in the conference with a 12-1 conference record, a 21-3 overall record and a .875 winning percentage. The Jacks will play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Corpus Christi. The Islanders are the only team in the conference who have beaten the Lumberjacks and hold the No. 9 seed in the conference with a 10-14 overall record, 6-7 SLC and a .462 winning percentage.
