A shooting occurred at 11:08 p.m. on Sept. 8 at University Club Apartments, 2807 Pearl St. Nacogdoches Police Department received a call of gunshots and immediately responded to the call. Police rendered aid, and the victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

The victim was a 20-year-old male and a Nacogdoches resident. The victim is believed to not be a resident of the apartments. The victim was treated and released from the hospital the same night.

The suspect is still on the loose. Police are still trying to figure out if the victim was shot from a vehicle or on foot.

As this is an ongoing investigation, the case will be updated as more information comes to light.

Police Chief Jim Sevey stated that this is an ongoing investigation and to contact the police department if anyone has any information regarding the crime.

“If they have any information, please call (936) 559-2607,” Sevey said. “If they want to call anonymously, they can call Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers at (936) 560-INFO (4636).”
