In today’s society I am beginning to see more and more young girls getting pregnant and married faster and earlier than women in this day and age should. Instead of focusing their time and energy on graduating college, or high school for that matter, and making a place in this world, these young girls are dead set on being lazy and impatient and because of that, they are convinced that their “husbands” will do everything for them. These dependent young girls focus all of their attention on the fact that because they are female, the man needs to “bring home the bacon,” so to speak. However, not all men are knights in shining armor.

In contrast to my previous statement, I do in fact see women who do not plan on their pregnancy and yet continue to strive in this world by continuing going to high school, college and even graduate school. There are women who, in fact, never finished and are coming back to receive that diploma. I give you full kudos.  Women in this generation should take your advice and example by being the strong, independent females that we were born to be. I’m not talking about going all man-hater on society. I am just saying that women need to have more self-confidence and better esteem in order to maintain a strong personality. Have faith in yourself and strive to create the middle ground that allows you to have the family and the marriage as well as the college degree.

However, as I said before, there are women who do not go this route. Instead, they give up, which is completely horrifying. Women, we bear children, sometimes several at a time, we cook and clean and take care of not only our children but the rest of our family as well. Our maternal instincts are what keep families together and instead of continuing this tradition, women in this day and age are set on the idea that women need to just have the men do all the work.

No thank you! There is a reason my mother raised me the way she did. Women are meant to be strong and independent, just as men are. Every person should have the opportunity to live life to their fullest before they settle down and have children.

Nowadays, women who get pregnant earlier in life than expected assume that their life is over. To be perfectly honest, that is just an excuse to quit. There are women all over the world who have babies while they are 15 years old and still have a college education. Was it easy? No, probably not, but it was still done. It was not impossible. Getting pregnant early is just a setback from your original plan. If you get pregnant while working do you quit? No, it’s called maternity leave. You come back after so much time off. It’s the same thing with school.

Therefore, dropping out of school, getting a low-income job with no benefits for you and your family is not the answer. Women, please stand up and have the strength to support yourselves. Understand the fact that not all men are knights in shining armor and not all of them will come to your rescue. In fact, there are times when you just need to listen to that little feminist inside your head and save yourself.
