The Jacks (18-2, 9-1 SLC) will lay their home-winning streak on the line as they face the Bears of Central Arkansas Thursday night. SFA has won 13-straight home games and is winning by a margin of nearly 26 points per game at home, while allowing just 44.6 points per game. Thursday’s game is also the annual Pink Out Game sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha in support of Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.

“This semester Zeta Tau Alpha was asked to team up with SFA Athletics to put on a Pink Out Basketball event,” a statement by ZTA’s philanthropy chair Caitlin Coulter said. “ZTA is helping promote this event, and will be providing free face painting, along with breast cancer ribbons and screening cards. Our main goal is to help students and the community members realize early detections of breast cancer.”

ZTA has been very active in its philanthropic efforts to support and raise money for breast cancer awareness, whether through school-sponsored functions such as this, or through separate events held solely by the chapter.

“Last fall, we raised over $6,000 for breast cancer awareness,” ZTA President Lauren Guinn said. “In the past two and a half years, our chapter has raised over $30,000.

“This Thursday we will be supporting the SFA basketball teams because athletics is putting on their Pink Out games, and since ZTA’s philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, we’re all going to the game to promote awareness and support the athletic programs here,” Guinn said.

The Ladyjack game will begin at 6 p.m. and the men’s basketball game will start directly after at 8 p.m. at Johnson Coliseum.
